Annual Meeting Followed by “The Flood of 1948”

We’ll begin with our annual meeting for members at six o’clock in the evening, followed by a presentation by Sallie McMillin and Gale Metcalf on the Flood of ‘48 at 7 o’clockSallie McMillin will give her personal accounts of what went into saving her family’s home on River Road from the flood waters. Three years later her family moved the house to higher ground. Gale Metcalf will give background on the environmental conditions that led to the flood and an overall view of the flooding and its aftermath. Light refreshments will be provided, this event is free to attend. Donations are appreciated. Join us to celebrate our 44th anniversary!
