Updated October 23, 2026. This page explains how Rumorix handles browsing data, event submissions, reports, and contact messages.
What Rumorix collects
You can browse Rumorix without creating an account. When you use the site, Rumorix and its hosting providers may receive standard request details such as IP address, browser details, page requests, timestamps, and security signals.
That information helps keep the site available, secure, and working as expected.
What stays in your browser
Rumorix stores saved events, selected area, filters, theme preferences, and cached event data in your browser.
Rumorix does not sync those saved items or preferences across browsers or devices. If you open Rumorix somewhere new, those local settings will not carry over.
The website also saves an unfinished Easy Submit form in this tab's session storage, including any contact details or note you enter. It restores drafts saved within the last two hours and clears the draft after a successful submission. Browser session restoration may retain tab storage; clear site data on a shared device if needed.
Easy Submit and event review
When you submit, Rumorix stores the event or calendar link, event details, optional email and note, and any organizer details you provide. Review records can also include source evidence, duplicate checks, security signals, and moderation decisions.
Event details and source links may appear in a public listing after review. The contact-email field is used for follow-up and is not published. Keep private information out of event descriptions, links, and notes.
Submission details, notes, and public source material may be processed by automated review tools, including AI services, to help assess an event. The automated review interface receives whether a contact email is available, not the contact-email field itself. A person must approve a submitted event before publication.
Reports and contact messages
If you submit a listing report or use the contact form, Rumorix stores the information you send so it can be reviewed, moderated, and followed up on if needed.
If you include an email address, it may be used to reply or ask for clarification.
How information is used
Rumorix uses information to run the site, review corrections and removals, respond to messages, prevent spam or abuse, and improve listing quality.
Rumorix does not use submission contact details to build advertising profiles. Access to review and contact records is restricted to authorized operators and service processes.
Third-party sites and services
Event source links take you to third-party sites, and those sites have their own privacy practices.
Cloudflare hosts the public site and helps protect it. Cloudflare Turnstile checks form requests using technical signals such as IP address and browser information. Cloudflare describes its processing in its privacy policy and Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
Internal review alerts contain a record reference and an admin link rather than the submitted contact details or message. Review tools and infrastructure providers may process data needed to operate the service.
How long submission data is kept
Routine cleanup removes the email, name, organization, and job-title fields from event submissions once they have been closed as published, rejected, or archived for 90 days. Submissions still open or held for review can remain longer.
The abuse-prevention identifier derived from a submitter's IP address expires after 30 days and is removed by scheduled cleanup. Hosting and security logs are separate from this identifier.
These cleanup periods do not delete the entire submission. Event details, notes, source evidence, and review history may be retained. Reports, contact messages, and operational records are kept as needed for support, moderation, and security; they do not use the event-submission contact cleanup rule.
Your choices
You can clear your browser storage at any time. Doing that may remove saved events and browsing preferences.
To ask about access, correction, or deletion of information you submitted, use Contact and include the receipt or relevant listing link if available. We may need to verify the request. Do not send passwords or identity documents through the form.
Clearing browser storage does not remove a submission or message that you have already sent.
